Can hair be permanently removed by laser?

Our laser hair removal treatment is known for its speed, flexibility, comfort, safety, and effectiveness. BBL, or BoardBand Light technology uses a intense pulsed light to target the hair follicles. It reduces and eliminates unwanted hair permanently, by creating a injury to the hair follicles without harming the surrounding skin. The treatment is quick, with little to no discomfort and down time.

How painful is laser hair removal?

BBL hair removal is known to be more comfortable than other methods, patients report little to no discomfort. A warm band snapping sensation may be felt. BBL technology has a continuous cooling to the skin that aids in the comfort of treatment. This technology makes Forever Bare BBL safe, effective, and comfortable for most skin types.

During the treatment, your skin is cleansed, and a gel is applied to the treatment area in order to focus the light energy and cool the top skin layer. A handheld device is placed on the skin, which is gentle and non-invasive. Protective eyewear is provided to ensure safety.

I just had my first session of laser hair reduction with Jessica and was blown away by my results. 75 percent of my hair has not grown back. Shelly has also been doing my Botox for years. Truly they are the best in the business.

I’ve had a few BBL treatments on my legs for hair removal and I’m so happy with the results! I’ve also tried IPL a few years ago with Little success. In just one treatment I saw results, cut my shaving time, thickness and density in half! So happy to not have to worry about shaving this summer. Both Shelly and Melanie are fantastic! 100% recommend, thanks girls!

FAQs

  • Compared to other laser hair removal devices on the market, Forever BARE BBL uses multiple wavelengths at a higher rate for a quicker, more effective treatment.

  • Hair removal with BBL uses multiple wavelengths of light to target the melanin in hair follicles resulting in the removal of hair. It's quicker and more comfortable than IPL and other laser hair removal treatments.

  • BBL is very effective at significantly reducing unwanted hair, but no technology on the market can guarantee a 100% hair removal. Results are permanent, once the hair follicle is killed, it can no longer grow back. Keep in mind that hormonal changes in the body such as pregnancy, PCOS, menopause, or a change in birth control can cause new hair to grow. Maintenance treatments might be needed.

  • After one treatment patients can expect a hair reduction in facial and body hair, and with maintenance treatments a continued reduction over time. Patients gradually notice finer hair and a slower rate of growth. Typically 6-8 treatments are needed to achieve a 80-90% reduction. Each patient results vary depending on the speed at which their hair grows, the color, and the thickness.

  • Hair grows in three stages: anagen, catagen and telogen. Forever Bare BBL predominantly treats hairs in the anagen phase, also known as the active growth phase. Since not all hairs are in the same growth stage at the same time, multiple treatments are necessary to target all hair.

  • Hair follicles have a growth cycle, and grow in 3 different stages. It is recommended to come every 4-6 weeks for optimal results.

  • Time of treatment depends on the size of the area to be treated. Smaller areas can take a few minutes, while larger areas can take 15 minutes or longer.

  • In most cases, you can resume your daily activities immediately. You may experience some redness or bumps that typically go away within a few hours. A few days to a week after treatment there can be some regrowth of hair, which does not indicate a lack of success with treatment. Try to avoid direct sun exposure and use sunscreen.

  • Any area of your body can be treated. The most common areas are the face, under arms, arms, legs, bikini area, chest, shoulders and back.

  • It is important to avoid plucking, waxing, or using hair removal creams for one month before your appointment. Shaving is the only method acceptable during your treatments. A close shave the day before treatment is recommended.

  • We need you to avoid plucking, waxing, or using depilatories (hair removal creams), for at least 1 month prior to treatment. For your first visit it is helpful to have some hair growth to be able to assess the color and texture of your hair to ensure proper settings. Shaving before each appointment after is acceptable.

  • You should avoid waxing, tweezing, and bleaching the hair prior and in between treatments. Shaving is the only activity that will not decrease the effectiveness of your hair removal treatments.Hair needs to be present in the follicle for BBL treatments to be most effective. Since waxing or plucking pulls hair out of the follicle, recently waxed or plucked areas will not be suitable for treatment.

  • Be sure to avoid medications that are sensitive to light such as certain antibiotics. Avoid products such as Retin-A, Differin, Glycolic or AHAs, these can cause some sensitivity and should be stopped one week before treatment.

  • Hair removal is not recommended for pregnant women as there are no clinical studies to evaluate safety or effectiveness. Stop using self tanners one month prior to treatment, as it can cause a burn. Patients with heavy sun exposure or use of tanning beds will not be able to have treatment due to risk of burn injury.
